E1 Heater failure

I get the halt printer and reset heater failed E1. I only get it when I am trying to print a part. I can preheat to any temp the bed and the hotend. And if I try to print after it has reached temp and should be ready to go it slams to a halt. I don't understand hot it can preheat to any temp correctly then not print. I changed the print head and got the same result. The first time it happened it was in the middle of a print.
