Help! My board made smoke and glowed very bright. The toasted component is shown in the picture. Either a regulator or, maybe a mosfet.

I understand that I have probably done something to cause this.

I just wonder if someone can give me a clue as to what might cause this so that I can make sure it doesn't happen again when I get my replacement board?

Hi ,there are something to cause this.

1. There is leakage, causing 12 or 24V voltage to sink into the 5V power supply;

2. There is a short circuit on the 5V line;

3. Too many RGB lights cause the current to be too large.
