Adam Nowak
I have an M8P and I'm trying to wire a 3 wire brushless fan to the fan 4 header. I know you can run 3 wire fans on 4 wire PWM headers I just don't know what pin you are supposed to use as the output pin. The pinout states PE4,PC13,VF4,GND. PC13 is were the tach wire connects, PE4 is unused. So what pin should I configure as the output pin? I just need on and off control, speed control not required. koehlr
4-pin PWM headers are built in the order (PWM, tacho, voltage, ground). For your 3-pin fan you do not need the PWM header. Therefore you need the pins PC13 (tacho), VF4 (voltage) and GND (ground). I hope this answer helps you.
