Using the TMC2209-V1.2 manually

Hi, I want to connect a TMC2209-V1.2 to drive a stepper motor manually, no 3D printer or motherboard.

I looked through the IC manufacturer's datasheet for UART control and decided to go with Step mode instead.

Please can someone tell me:

  • Are current limit resistors required externally and if so, how do I connect them?
  • Are the internal current limit resistors in use by default, and what do I need to do to configure them if not?
  • Can the logic supply be 3.3 VDC?
  • Do I need supply decoupling capacitors?
