Powering EBB42

Recommended Posts

I am in the process of converting over a printer to klipper using an Octopus Pro, Pi 4+, and EBB42.   I was going to wire power for the EBB42 via a fused power block off of the 24vdc switched power module, but was curious if we could repurpose the HE ports on the Octopus Pro main board to supply power.  Does anyone know if we can do this via klipper config and if there are any cons to trying this?

Thanks,

Warren.

This will not work, because the HE port needs to send a heating command to have a 24V voltage to the EBB. It will take time for EBB to start up, which will cause it to temporarily fail to communicate with the motherboard. It is best to power the EBB directly from the power supply, not through the motherboard. If you have any product problems, please feel free to contact us by submitting a ticket.
