EBB42 Can 1.2 Max Failure?

Hello, I cannot get any reading (always reports zero and firmware emergency shutdown) connecting either a PT100 or PT1000 to the MAX31865. I don't know what I should be looking for to confirm this is infact the issue? If I disable the extruder all other connected fans and devices work correctly. I have triple checked my .cfg. I don't seem to be able to reach support about this, and want to know if anyone has any troubleshooting or way for me to confirm this is the issue.

MCU 'EBBCan' shutdown: Thermocouple reader fault
Once the underlying issue is corrected, use the
"FIRMWARE_RESTART" command to reset the firmware, reload the
config, and restart the host software.
Printer is shutdown

currently have pt1000 I can get to read on other connections and the following config for my extruder:

step_pin: EBBCan:PD0
dir_pin: !EBBCan:PD1
enable_pin: !EBBCan:PD2
microsteps: 256
rotation_distance: 22.34393166
full_steps_per_rotation: 200
gear_ratio: 3:1
nozzle_diameter: 0.150
filament_diameter: 1.750
heater_pin: EBBCan:PB13
sensor_type:MAX31865
sensor_pin: EBBCan: PA4
spi_bus: spi1
rtd_nominal_r: 1000
rtd_reference_r: 4300
rtd_num_of_wires: 2
control: pid
pid_Kp: 42.275
pid_Ki: 2.562
pid_Kd: 174.388
min_temp: 0
max_temp: 280

no idea what is going on, I haven't been able to read pt1000 or pt100 with the max at all.

Currently worked around with using TH0 Connector, can get pt1000 to show there as well as other thermisters on hand. Not as accurate but I'm printing pla+ so it works.
