Cannot use VAT to communicate with SKR3 EZ

I have an interesting problem.  I use VAT because it is the only terminal emulator that sends lower case commands to enter my network password.  I'm a mechanical engineer. No EE or CS degree.  I can communicate using Prontoface or Putty, but no lower case.  When I use YAT, I get no response from the SKR3.  YAT shows that it is connected to the Com port with no errors.  YAT DOES communicate with my SKR2.  Suggestions?
